Meet The Person Who Loves You!
By Dr. Jim Weldon, Jr.
You have been looking. But they just don't seem right. Everything is great... for a while but pretty soon, you get that feeling - "You have been here before." They have let you down again, they are not who you thought they were, they sure have changed. And now you feel empty. You feel disillusioned, disappointed.
What would you say if I told you, that I know:

  1. Someone who loves YOU more than you could ever imagine? Does it sound too good to be true? Isn't that what your heart is aching for?
  2. Someone who knows you better than you know yourself? This person knows exactly what you need, even before you know it!
  3. Someone who can't wait to show you just how much you are loved? Now we are talking!!
Is the suspense getting to you? This person is your Heavenly Father!!
But I have bad news, good news, and a choice to share with you... The Bad News, The Good News, and The Choice
The Bad News...
We couldn't handle Jesus, so we killed Him. We killed God's Son, Jesus.  Now, I know YOU weren't there but people just like you and me were. Why did we kill Him? Because we like to be in control, do our own thing, be our own boss, even be our own god. Your Heavenly Father knows this - remember He knows us better than we know ourselves.
The Good News...
This could have been the tragedy of all tragedies. But your Heavenly Father took this event and turned it upside down. Jesus died but your Heavenly Father raised Him back to life!
The Choice..In the death and raising back to life of God's Son Jesus, your Heavenly Father put a choice before you.

  1. You can choose to be in control, do your own thing, be your own boss, even be your own god.
  2. Or you can choose to let your Heavenly Father have control of your life and show you why He created you.
Though it is your Heavenly Father's intention for you and everyone else to come to know Him and follow Him, your Heavenly Father will not force His way into your life. He wants to be asked. It's simple. Just ask. Sincerely ask with your whole being, your whole self. Need some words... Here they are..."
Heavenly Father, I am sorry for trying to be my own god. I want to follow your plan and will for my life. Thank you for all you have done in your Son, Jesus. Please come into my life and heart and take control. I am yours; you are my Heavenly Father. Help me to grow and follow You for the rest of my life. I ask this in Jesus' name." Congratulations! You have begun the most exciting journey ever! Your Heavenly Father will take you places and show you things which are beyond compare. Keep following, keep the faith, be thankful. If you don't feel any different, that's OK! Your decision to ask and follow is based on facts, not feeling. Trust! Here are a few suggestions, which will help.

Suggestions

  1. Now tell someone!
    A. E-mail me, I would love to hear about your decision!
JimWeldon@4fipc.org. I also will send you some "helps" to help you grow in your new relationship with your Heavenly Father.
    B. If you are already involved in a church, tell your pastor or priest about your decision. If you are not involved in a church, find one, get involved, and begin going to worship on a regular basis. Remember - you are there to give as well as get.
  2. Choose to grow in your new relationship with your Heavenly Father.
    A. Read the Bible daily, especially the back part called the New Testament.
    B. Talk to God daily. He is your new best friend who will never leave you or let you down.
    C. Begin learning about what it means to be a Christian. Read Christian books.
    D. Find a more experienced Christian of the same sex you can talk to, pray with, and study the Bible with.
    E. Choose to live a life of Joy.
    F. Tell others about what their Heavenly Father has done for them in His Son Jesus.
