About Fleming Island Presbyterian Church
Fleming Island Presbyterian Church – FIPC

F = Focusedoutreach (1 Corinthians 9:22-23)
I  = Intentional Small Group (Acts 5:42)
P = PurposeDriven (Matt 38:19-20 & 22:36-40)
C = Christian Life, Development Process (Eph 4”13-15)

Fleming Island is a Purpose Driven Church.  Our goal is to intentionally: meet people right where they are and help them grow into their God given potential.

Most people live their entire lives without ever knowing why?  They live year after year with no idea of why they live or of God’s purpose for their lives.  The most basic question a person can ask is: “What is the meaning of life?” Many conclude that the meaning of life is found in the pursuit of happiness.

  • Some look for happiness by acquiring possessions.
  • Some look for happiness by experiencing pleasure.
  • Some look for happiness by gaining prestige and power.

But real happiness comes from understanding your purpose.  What is your purpose?  God made you to love you!  You were created to enjoy a
personal growing relationship with God and to manage all of the rest of God’s creation.

No matter what you have been told or what you think now, YOU are not an accident!  God created you for a reason, God created you for a purpose!  We want to help you discover your purpose.  We have developed a simple Christian Life Development process to help you discover that purpose.  Check out our Life In The Church page of a complete description of this simple to follow process.

Do you remember when Grandma said that poem,
"Here is the church... here is the steeple... open the door... and here are all the people."  Grandma was right!  The church is people! Responding to God's calling to build up His church (i.e people), we are looking for men and women, boys and girls who are willing to rise to the challenge in this new endeavor.

We have small groups for everyone!  See the Church Schedule page for details of what is happening.  Our Ministry Opportunities page will give you ideas on how to get involved in what God is doing in and through this church.

It's going to be an incredible journey!  Who knows the challenges and obstacles we will have to overcome!  But we are confident that we "can do all things through Christ who strengthens" us. (Philippians 4:13) Come and
get involved! You will be glad you did!

About Being a Presbyterian - Fleming Island Presbyterian Church
  1. Fleming Island Presbyterian Church will strive to bring Christ centered spiritual awakening, renewal and growth to all people.
  2. We uphold the biblical values our great church was founded on especially:
  • a. The sacred covenant of marriage between a man and a woman
    as expressed in scripture.
  • b. The importance of a loving Christ centered Family.
  • c. Fleming Island Presbyterian Church sees itself as a catalyst for renewal within the Presbyterian Church (USA), and as our other churches and our denomination debates current issues, we will
    remain committed to Biblical standards for human sexuality.  What
    are those standards?  “…live either in fidelity within the covenant of marriage between a man and a woman or chastity in singleness…” The Book of Order of the PCUSA – G-6.0106
Core Values
  • SPIRIT LED : Jesus said that He will build His church.  We will follow His lead and be used as His hands.
  • BIBLE : The Bible is God’s Word to us.
  • PRAYER : Prayer is a vital role in the health of our church and in the
    life of the individual Christian.
  • WORSHIP : Worship is a way of life.
  • The Love of CHRIST : The love of Christ compels us to love others.
  • Leap of FAITH : God calls us to step out in faith.
  • Ministry of the MEMBERS : The Ministry of this church is developed and run by the members.
  • Sharing our FAITH : God calls each of us to learn how to share our faith with others and then do it.
  • HOSPITALITY : The church doors are open to all.
  • Building RELATIONSHIP : The Church is a safe place to know others and be known by others.
  • Christian SERVICE : God calls us to reach out to our community and beyond.
CORE BELIEFS: We believe
  • That Jesus Christ is the HEAD of the church: Everything we do is because of Him!  He is the Lord, the living Word of God, Holy Savior, Light of the World.  Jesus Christ is God’s only begotten son: God incarnate. Jesus as revealed in the Bible is the way the truth and the life.  He is the only way to get to heaven.
  • The Bible is the INSPIRED Word of God and our only rule for faith and life: The Bible guides us in what to believe but also how to live our lives.  It God’s written word.  It is truth.
  • Human beings are SINFUL and our sin separates us from God but God, sent Jesus Christ to reconcile us to Himself, offering us forgiveness:   The reality of human sin and the power of God’s grace to
    transform us. God’s Holy Spirit was given to the church, and is still actively involved in our world today.  We are saved by grace, through faith in Christ.
  • God has a PLAN for your life:  God is in charge: The creator and ruler of all that is God wants to have a personal relationship with you in His son Jesus Christ.  He has been calling to each and every one of us to enter and grow in that relationship.  God wants you to grow in your relationship with Him by: being an active part of a worshiping community; by daily prayer and reading and studying the Bible; by participating in a small group; and by having an active part in ministry, mission and service.
  • Each member of the church is a MINISTER:  As God calls people into faith in His Son, Jesus Christ, He equips each believer with spiritual
    gifts, a personality, passion, experience, abilities and resources to actively participate in ministry and mission of His Church, and make a difference in this world.God calls us into the body of Christ, which is
    His church. He calls us into a life of worship, prayer, reflection, ministry, mission and service.

    Presbyterian.  It’s a funny word.  What does it mean? It’s a word out of the Bible which means Elders.  This church is ruled or run by Elders.  The congregation elects men and women out of our church membership to work with the Pastor and staff to lead this church.
